BTS’ J-Hope learns to shoot at military camp
BTS fans, or ARMYs, have eagerly awaited updates on J-Hope, who enlisted in the South Korean military on April 18, 2023.
The rapper is the second member of the globally popular K-pop group to join the mandatory service, following Jin, who enlisted in December 2022.
J-Hope reported to the army’s 36th division boot camp in Gangwon-do, where he will spend the next five weeks receiving basic military training before being called up to active duty at the end of May.
He shaved his head and posted a farewell message to his fans on Weverse before leaving for the camp.
Recently, some new photos of J-Hope in his military uniform have surfaced online, thanks to a supporter who posted them on Twitter.
The photos show J-Hope smiling and giving a thumbs-up sign during mealtime, holding a gun, and posing with his squad members during combat skills and firearms training.
The photos have delighted and reassured ARMYs, who have sent their love and support to J-Hope. They praised his positive attitude and expressed their pride in him.
They also commented on how handsome he looked in his uniform and how well he fits in with his fellow soldiers.
J-Hope is expected to complete his military service by October 2024. Meanwhile, BTS is on hiatus as a group, but the members have been working on their solo projects. J-Hope recently released a collaboration song with American rapper J Cole titled “Hope World.”
