Regarding the conduct of couples in public places, Kota’s senior advocate Nand Singh Rajawat told that under section 294 of IPC, it is a legal offense to do obscene act in any public place. On conviction, the punishment can be imprisonment of up to three months and fine can also be imposed. However, it is a bailable offense in which the accused gets bail.
Advocate Nand Singh Rajawat told that in the Indian Penal Code 294, it has been said that if a person does such things, such actions, such gestures in a public place which are against social norms, then it will be considered obscene. If a couple violates social norms and limits at a public place, then it is considered a crime.
